About Ice Box Hockey

Ice Box Hockey is Los Angeles' premier hockey pro shop, located inside the Skating Edge Ice Arena in Harbor City, CA. We serve players of all levels — from youth beginners to elite adult skaters — with the same NHL-grade equipment, precision sharpening, and expert fitting that professional staff rely on.

Our Story

Founded by lifelong hockey players who knew the difference the right equipment makes on the ice, Ice Box Hockey was built on a single belief: every skater deserves access to professional-level service, not just the pros. We opened our doors inside Skating Edge — South Bay's home rink — so we could be exactly where our customers need us most: steps from the ice.

Over the years we've sharpened thousands of pairs of skates, profiled hundreds of blades to match individual skating styles, and helped countless players find gear that actually fits. We don't believe in one-size-fits-all. We believe in getting it right.

What Makes Us Different

Most pro shops sharpen skates. We profile them. Our Elite E-P3 blade profiling system is the same technology used by NHL equipment staff — a multi-radius profile dialed in to your position, weight, and skating style using the TRUE SVH 3D foot scanning system. There is no guesswork. Every profile is built around your body and your game.

Our skate sharpening starts at $9.99 and is done on precision Sparx and Blackstone machines. Custom blade profiling starts at $39.99. TRUE SVH 3D foot scanning is available for expert skate fitting.

Our staff are hockey players and skating enthusiasts first. Every team member is trained on professional sharpening and profiling techniques, brand fitting systems, and the equipment lines we carry — including Bauer, CCM, TRUE, Warrior, and more. When you walk in, you're talking to someone who has laced up skates and understands why the details matter.
